Services

Provisioning and Configuration Services (included with IBM SaaS Subscription)

The IBM SRE team provides a variety of services in order to provision, stand up and allow access to our customer's Maximo or TRIRIGA SaaS environments. These are included as part of the IBM SaaS subscription. IBM SRE services includes:

  • System Sizing & Provisioning
Application and Database Server sizing and provisioning for each environment in IBM Cloud data center(s). This includes sizing of each server tier including appropriate processor cores, memory and disk space.

  • Product Installation
Maximo and TRIRIGA product installation in both staging and production environments. This includes installation and configuration of application, middleware (WebSphere) and database (DB2) platforms as well as clustering and load balancing configuration for production environments for optimum performance and stability.

  • Product Upgrades
IBM SRE is responsible for performing technical upgrades for all customer SaaS environments, including featurepacks, fixpacks and version upgrades. For TRIRIGA, SRE performs platform upgrades and platform fixpacks only. Customers are responsible for performing TRIRIGA Application upgrades. Customer unique aspects of an upgrade (migration of custom screens, reports, integrations, java customizations along with subsequent testing and remediation) are the responsibility of the customer. Customers need to plan for, migrate, validate and test any unique configurations or customizations as part of the overall upgrade effort. IBM SRE works in conjunction with our customers to schedule technical upgrades for each environment, and strives to keep customers within 2 levels of the most current IBM product version(s).

  • HTTPS / SSL Setup
IBM SRE performs setup of SSL certificates and DNS registration from an authorized CA for each customer server we provision. This allows for browser based HTTPS (encrypted) access for all Maximo and TRIRIGA SaaS customers.

  • SSO and SAML configuration
Single Sign On (SSO) and SAML login authentication configuration is available to IBM SaaS customers as part of the subscription.  LDAP Authentication can be setup for Maximo customers using a site-to-site VPN. These services are optional, but included. The IBM SRE team will work in conjunction with customers and their Identity provider to configure user authentication.

  • SFTP Setup
Configuration of secure FTP (SFTP) to support file transfers, integrations to / from the customer site or external systems and to view Application Server (JVM) log files on Cloud environments is available. Both end user and service SFTP accounts can be configured. This service is optional, but included.

  • IPsec VPN Setup
Setup of site-to-site IPsec Virtual Private Network (VPN) between the customer location and IBM on Cloud environments (if required). This can be configured to support integrations to & from client’s on-premise or third party hosted external systems, Maximo LDAP Authentication or direct, read-only database access. The IBM CDS network team will work in conjunction with customer firewall / network team members to configure a VPN tunnel. This service is optional, but included.

  • Email
A local SMTP server is configured in each SaaS environment for processing outbound email.

Migration to Cloud Services (optional)

IBM are experts in moving Maximo and TRIRIGA systems from on-premise environments to the IBM cloud. These optional services are available at additional cost through a Statement of Work from IBM Lab Services. Services can also be provided in conjunction with business partners or 3rd parties. In any migration from on-premise to IBM Cloud, the source system needs to be at the latest Maximo or TRIRIGA version and running on a supported database version (DB2, Oracle) prior to being migrated. IBM SRE does not perform database conversions or application upgrades, but assists IBM Lab Services and/or third parties with migration of these artifacts into to the IBM Cloud environment. These type of services can be obtained from IBM Lab Services or in conjunction with a Business Partner.

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Lift and Shift migrations from on-premise to IBM on Cloud
IBM SRE can assist with migrating on premise customer systems over to the IBM Cloud environment. In a "lift and shift" scenario the source system version and platform remain the same and are at currently supported levels for the IBM SaaS offering.  The SRE team will work with the customer to perform migration of the application, database, integrations and other related configurations in both trial (test) runs and live production cutover.

  • Database conversion services from Microsoft SQLServer or Oracle to IBM DB2
IBM Lab Services can convert customer databases from SQLServer or Oracle to IBM DB2 as part of the migration process. This can reduce third party software licensing costs (the IBM DB2 database platform is included with Maximo and TRIRIGA SaaS at no additional cost).

  • Maximo and TRIRIGA product version upgrades or updates as part of the migration
IBM Lab Services can perform technical upgrade services from earlier product versions to the most current version as part of the migration from on-premise to cloud.
