Scheduler Optimization

Maximo Asset Management Scheduler includes a schedule optimization feature that can be enabled and configured for Maximo on Cloud customers who have Scheduler provisioned in their environment. This feature can leverage IBM's Decision Optimization on Cloud service. This is a separate service that is not managed by the CDS team. In order for Maximo on Cloud customers to use this feature, they must first sign up for IBM Decision Optimization on Cloud.

Customers can initially opt for a free 3 month trial of the service. After that period, they must pay for the service. It currently runs about $10 hour/US and is a "pay per usage" service. It should be noted that this service is above & beyond the standard IBM Maximo on Cloud contract, and is not managed by the CDS team.

When the customer signs up, they will receive two things:

  • A DOC service URL

  • An API Key

Once the customer has signed up and received these two items, they then need to submit a case to the IBM support community requesting setup of Maximo Scheduler Optimizer. The ticket should contain the following information:

  • The target Maximo environment where they want the service configured (DEV, TEST, PROD, etc)

  • The DOC service URL

  • The API Key

The IBM SRE team will then work with the customer to configure the service.
