OpenVPN
OpenVPN is a client based, portable VPN solution available to Maximo and TRIRIGA SaaS customers. OpenVPN accounts are created by the IBM SRE team on a per-user basis. In this scenario, the end user installs and configures OpenVPN software on their client workstation. This allows them to connect to an Enhanced Access DEV server console using RDP or establish direct read-only access IBM SaaS databases (please note a Database Access Account will be required to log directly into a database).
Requesting an OpenVPN account
To request an OpenVPN account, submit a case using the IBM Support Community and provide the following information in the description section of the case for each OpenVPN account requested:
Information to provide in Case or SR | Example |
User Name | John Doe |
johndoe@us.ibm.com | |
Access Requested | RDP, Database |
Environment(s) | DEV, TEST, PROD |
Note:
Multiple OpenVPN accounts can be requested within a single case or service request. Only one case is needed for OpenVPN setup and can cover connectivity to multiple environments (DEV, TEST, PROD, etc).
You will then receive installation and setup information for OpenVPN along with a connection profile (OPVN) file for each account.

Note: OpenVPN is a mobile solution, meaning User Workstations (laptops) can be located anywhere, as long as they have internet access. OpenVPN connectivity is established over the public internet.
Instructions on how to establish an OpenVPN connection can be found here:

Please note:
OpenVPN accounts that have been inactive for more than 90 days (3 months) will have their access revoked in accordance with IBM SRE Security Policy.
