RDC Architecture

IBM Maximo SaaS Flex offers application server console access for Enhanced Access DEV Environments. In these environments, the Maximo Application Server is a Windows server. Customers can gain access to the server console by installing and configuring OpenVPN client and Microsoft Remote Desktop. Direct read/write access to the DEV database is also available from the Windows console.

A example diagram of this architecture is shown below.

  • The client workstation establishes a connection to the IBM on Cloud environment over the internet using OpenVPN client (provided by IBM) on port 443.

  • Once OpenVPN is running, the customer can connect to the Maximo DEV Application Server Windows console using Microsoft Remote Desktop (RDC) over RDP port 3389 using their RDC account
