Maximo Anywhere 7.6.2 and 7.6.3

Note: this section is Maximo Anywhere v7.6.2 and 7.6.3 specific.

It should be noted that Anywhere 7.6.2 and 7.6.3 will reach end of support in April and September of 2021.

Maximo Anywhere 7.6.2 and 7.6.3 are based on IBM's MobileFirst platform and supports both connected and disconnected Android, iOS and Windows mobile devices. In IBM Maximo SaaS, MobileFirst is installed on the Application Server(s) for each environment. Customers can configure and build Anywhere applications if they have an Enhanced Access DEV Environment.

• Anywhere for IBM Maximo SaaS provides customer access to the MobileFirst Application Center and Platform Operations console(s) along with an app installer URL

• Maximo Anywhere Apps for Android and iOS are provisioned by default and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple Store. Maximo Anywhere Apps for Windows must be built by the customer from a developer's workstation and published to the SaaS environment

• Anywhere Apps can be customized to meet specific business requirements using an Eclipse IDE. This requires the customer to setup one or more local developer workstation(s)

• An Apple (Mac) workstation is required to develop Anywhere Apps for iOS devices

Customization

If your team needs functionality not available in the store versions: 

• You will need to have an Enhanced Access DEV environment or a local workstation for builds

• If you would like to build apps with additional functionality not supported in the store versions, you must setup a local workstation for native builds

• Open a case in the IBM Support Community portal to request the Maximo Anywhere codebase
  (state the specific Anywhere 7.6.2.x or 7.6.3.x version needed in the case)

• The IBM SRE team will make it available to your team via SFTP download 

• When building the native applications, your team can include the necessary certificates, then build/deploy to the current hosted Application Center in IBM Cloud. Your team will be responsible for any certificates that need to be added to the application.

While both application options today can provide updates to the deployed application, Cloud Delivery Services will only be providing the "build mobilefirst" capability. This build targets the store versions of the apps (Android and iOS), and will only build out the web components and push the updates to your mobile device(s).  This streamlined offering provides the flexibility of Maximo Anywhere builds, while still giving the client full control of their Anywhere implementation.
