Transferring Files

To transfer small files to the remote server you can map local drives from your client PC using the Remote Desktop Connection application.

  1. Launch Remote Desktop Connection

  2. Click the Show Options button and then click on the Local Resources tab

  3. Under Local devices and resources click the More... button

  4. Expand the section for Drives and click the checkbox next to the drive you would like to share.
    Click OK

  5. Return to the General tab and complete the connection as usual

  6. Click Connect on the Do you trust this remote connection? dialog

  7. Once connected open File Explorer from the Taskbar and you will see your local drive listed under Devices and drives

Please note:
Your drive will now be shared for any future Remote Desktop connections you establish. To prevent this behavior you will need to reverse the process described in steps 2–5 to stop the local drive from being shared. There is currently no process in place to transfer large files to your Development server. If you have a large number or size of files you need to transfer, please open a Service Desk ticket.
