Logging into the Development Server

Your Enhanced Access DEV Application server console can be accessed using Windows Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). Please Note:

  • The following instructions were documented using Windows 10, but earlier versions of Windows should behave in a similar manner

  • You must be connected to IBM Cloud using OpenVPN as described in the previous section before proceeding with the steps below.

  • You must have an RDC username and password. This would have been sent to you via email.

  1. Next to the Windows Start icon, type rdc in the search field and press Enter
Remote Desktop Connection should come up. Click Run as administrator

    Note:
You can also access RDC from Start > Windows Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection

  2. Remote Desktop Connection login dialog box will appear.

For Computer, enter the DEV server internal IP address (for example ‘198.168.0.1’). The IP address is available in your RDC account access record in the Access Management Tool.

For User name, use the format outlined below. The RDC account username is available in your RDC account access record in the Access Management Tool.

    cds\RDC username

    For example:

    cds\jsmith

    Click Connect

  3. Click Yes to acknowledge the security warning (You may receive this warning because the certificate for Remote Desktop is not signed by a trusted authority - it does not mean your connection is insecure)

  4. Click OK to the Legal Notice after reading it

  5. You should now be logged into your Development server console

Security Warning

It is strongly recommended that you change your password after your initial login. Change the RDC account password in the Access Management Tool by following the steps outlined here.
